Another name for brown

We call it brown but really its golden. Brown is such a plain word. No imagination, not much thought and certainly not a worthy description for this beautiful wrap. If you close your eyes this color might remind you of a setting sun, the way the sky looks just before night takes over, a warm fire, your golden retriever curled next to you, or coffee with just a little cream.  Not a one word name that so limits the amazing color tones that weave themselves in and out of the fabric.  Lets save brown for other things. End of summer. Says who?

The end of summer?It was a good summer. Or so I thought. A long, slow to get started spring followed by warm days. Not too hot and not too humid. Around here it is not unusual to stand doing nothing at all except breathing and holding an overused garden hose and lose 5 pounds (I wish!)  just sweating in the August humidity. I live in the south, officially in the ‘upper south’ if you look at the gardening almanacs that tell you what will just die from too cold winters. I like the weather here. Hot when it should be...

Pashmina. Another word for comfort

 Pashmina. Another word for comfort.Often times I find myself wondering where the time went. Can it really be the end of another day or week, another month? And then to look at the calendar and see, almost with surprise, another year is not far away. When I was little the year 2015 was only possible in the movies.
