I can almost hear a collective sigh of relief whispering...Fall, finally its Fall! At exactly the time I thought I wasn't going to make it past the final heat of summer, Fall rescued me. Just the right mix of sun and clouds against a perfect blue sky. Pumpkins everywhere, leaves starting to change, just a hint of cooler air and the disappearance of humidity. It would be fine with me if the 'closer than your skin', fully saturated, sticky mess of humidity stayed gone forever...I could make this wish but with a second thought I better not. If my wish came true humidity, in all her selfishness, might just decide to take a friend along and summer would be gone to. And I need summer as much as Fall. No worries. On clear autumn days I don't even remember humidity. What I do savor is the feel of the year winding down, the slowing of the days, the light in the evening as the sun sets perfect and beautiful.
Time to pull out the jacket, grab the sweater, find that cozy wrap and breath in the air. Winter is coming but we won't think about that now.
